A Bit About Holly
Hello! I’m Holly, a self-taught needle felt artist living on the Isle of Wight, where I spend most of my days making tiny woolly creatures and imagining their stories.
I love working with wool for a living, needle felting miniature animals called the Woodlanders. They’ve taken on lives of their own over the years - complete with backpacks, tiny teddies, and knitwear in all weathers! Each one is handmade by me from start to finish (usually with tea gone cold beside me), and no two are ever quite the same.
I started this little business by accident, really - felting began as a hobby to help me unwind after work, and somehow turned into a whole whimsical world instead. These days, I usually make between 30 and 80 pieces a month, and I run everything myself - from felting and photography to packing (with occasional help from Mum and Dad), posting, and trying to keep on top of emails.
When I’m not working, I’m usually walking our two slightly ridiculous dogs (Colin and Pippi), or slowly knitting something that may or may not become a jumper. I love things that provoke nostalgia, the first coffee of the day made by my other half, quiet moments, all kinds of music, and the kind of days where nothing much happens - in the best possible way.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I still can’t quite believe this is my job, but I’m so grateful it is - and even more grateful you’re here. :)
